Honest review and information
I recently purchased the AREBI Hidden Cameras for Home Security, 1080p HD Mini Spy Camera Wi-Fi Wireless, Small Nanny Camera Indoor with Remote View, Motion Detection, Night Vision, Tiny Spy Cam A10 Plus [Original]. As someone who values home security, I was intrigued by the features this mini spy camera boasted. In this product review, I will be discussing my experience with the AREBI Hidden Camera and whether or not it lived up to my expectations.
Firstly, I was pleased to find that the camera was incredibly small and compact. It fit perfectly in the palm of my hand and would be completely unnoticeable to anyone who didn't know it was there. The built-in magnet was also a handy feature, allowing me to easily attach it to any metal surface for better placement options.
Setting up the camera was a bit tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze. I simply had to connect it to my home's 2.4GHz network (keep in mind, it won't work with 5GHz) and then download the free app on my smartphone. Once I had the app, I was able to live stream the footage remotely from anywhere in the world. I could also insert a memory card (not included) to record footage and access it through the app.
One of the features I appreciated most about the AREBI Hidden Camera was its motion detection capabilities. I was able to set the sensor sensitivity manually on the app, and whenever motion was detected, I would receive a push notification with images. It was reassuring to know that I would be alerted if anything out of the ordinary happened in my home when I wasn't there. The night vision feature was also a plus, with 6 non-luminous infrared IR lights that can reach up to 15 feet.
The live stream quality was clear and sharp at 1080p, and the 150-degree wide angle lens allowed me to capture more in the frame. I could also playback, snapshot, and record remotely using the app. However, the camera's small size did come with a downside. The audio quality was not the greatest, which made it difficult to hear anything if it wasn't right next to the camera.
Another feature I appreciated was the camera's ability to record while charging. After upgrading, the camera could last for about 3 hours on a full charge. If I wanted it to last longer, I could plug it into a 10000mAh battery pack (not included) to record up to 30 hours or plug it into any USB port with an output of 5V/1A or above for continuous recording. It was nice to have these options available to me so that I could choose what worked best for my needs.
Unfortunately, there were a few downsides to the AREBI Hidden Camera that made it fall short of my expectations. Firstly, the camera's instructions were poorly written, which made it frustrating to set up at first. Secondly, the camera's app was glitchy and difficult to navigate. It would often freeze or crash, and I would have to restart my phone to get it working again. Lastly, the customer support was lacking. When I reached out with an issue, it took a long time for me to receive a response, and they were not helpful in resolving the problem.
Overall, I would give the AREBI Hidden Cameras for Home Security, 1080p HD Mini Spy Camera Wi-Fi Wireless, Small Nanny Camera Indoor with Remote View, Motion Detection, Night Vision, Tiny Spy Cam A10 Plus [Original] a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. While it has its downsides, its small size, motion detection, and night vision capabilities make it a worthwhile investment for anyone who values home security. However, be prepared to deal with difficult set-up, a glitchy app, and poor customer support.
