I decided to go for this lens against the Sigma Art because of the price difference. Browsing thru the internet for reviews and video samplesc this lens is at parc if not better than with other lenses out there. This AE Canon mount has focus confirmation and auto exposure. It is really sharp! brNow this is a manual lens so it is really tough with its shallow depth of field but when you really does get focus - awesome crispiness and wonderful dreamy bokeh! The focus confirmation is good from 5.6 up. From 3.5 to 1.4 the focus confirmation lags. I use the LiveView when eyeballing it. I might try the MagicLantern for focus peaking. brThis is not for the impatientc nor for those fast-paced photo gigs. You have to turnc turnc turn some more just to be sure that beep is focusing right on the spot. You have to learn the quirks of this lens to truly appreciate it. I like the bokeh or blur of this than that of Sigma as it is softerc creamier and dreamierc my personal preference. This is great for videosc excellent color rendering and smooth ring. The aperture is controlled from the camera. I use this on a Canon 7D and both focus and apreture communicate well. brIf you want fast lens with fast focusing and creamy bokehc and have the money go for the Sigma. This onec I am keeping it! I know what I am getting so it is a 5 for me!
