NEEWER 2 Pack RGB1200 LED - Review

When it comes to video production, lighting is one of the most crucial aspects that can make or break the final output. Therefore, choosing the right lighting kit is vital for any content creator or professional videographer. In this regard, the NEEWER 2 Pack RGB1200 LED Video Light with APP/2.4G Control is a game-changer. This lighting kit comes with two Neewer LED video lights, stands, and a carrying bag. Here are my thoughts on the product after using it for a while.

Firstly, I was impressed with the versatility of the Neewer LED video lights. The 60W output and 1056 LEDs provide excellent illumination up to 22,000lux@0.5m, CRI97+ and TLCI98+. The color temperature range of 2500K~8500K and 360° full RGB range made adjusting the light to obtain the perfect color balance for the shoot an easy task. Additionally, the NEEWER linear PWM dimming technology enabled smooth and precise adjustment of brightness, breaking the minimum brightness limit from 1% slight bright to 100% ultra-bright, and power accuracy of up to 1%.

Secondly, the 18 Scene Modes were a game-changer for me, as they allowed me to add an eye-catching element to my video creations. Out of the 18 Scene Modes, 17 support presets, enabling me to use the lighting kit for multiple scenarios, including parties, music videos, and movies. The music sync effect was another standout feature, as it synchronized the smart lights to the beat of the music in a colorful dynamic way based on pitch and volume, creating a stunning ambiance for any shoot.

Thirdly, the infinity app and built-in 2.4G allowed me to configure multiple lights simultaneously up to 66'/20m and in up to 8 groups, allowing control of up to 255 devices simultaneously on the app. The app worked well with other NEEWER lighting kits, including the SL90, RGB1, RGB C80, and RGB CB60, providing a seamless and uniform lighting experience. The built-in 2.4G feature with 99 channels made any light within 328'/100m a remote control without a network.

Fourthly, the DC input and NP-F batteries provided continuous power supply in the studio or when shooting in the field, respectively. The light was compatible with 1 or 2 NP-F750/970 batteries, making it portable and convenient when shooting outdoors. In addition, the support for Over the Air (OTA) firmware updates enabled upgrading firmware to be transmitted wirelessly from my phone to the light, ensuring that my lighting kit was always up-to-date and functioning optimally.

Finally, the Aluminum Alloy Light Shell and Stand were well designed, enhancing the durability and portability of the product. The U shaped bracket provided the flexibility needed to adjust the angle of the light 360°, while the four flaps of the barndoors could expand or narrow the light source. The matte diffuser was an added bonus, helping to soften the harsh glare. The light stands offered a height range from 2.85’-6.6’/87-200cm, ensuring that I could get the perfect height for my shoots. Lastly, the carrying bag was spacious enough to accommodate the lighting kit, stands, and other accessories, making transportation easier.
