Product Review: ALTSON LED Video Lighting Kit with Wand Stick

If you're a photographer or videographer, you know how important lighting is to the final product. Even if you have a top-of-the-line camera, poor lighting can ruin the shot. That's why I was excited to try out the ALTSON LED Video Lighting Kit with Wand Stick.

This kit comes with everything you need to get started: two light sticks, two adjustable tripod stands, 18 color filters, two goosenecks, and two power cables. As soon as I took the kit out of the box, I could tell that the materials were high quality. The black anodized aluminum support of the tripod stand feels sturdy, and the light sticks themselves don't feel cheap or flimsy.

The LED Light Stick Kit measures 17.7’’ x 1.6’’ x 2", making it a great size for portability while still providing powerful lighting. The 63 SMD LED beads provide ambient light conditions, and the light's CRI rating of 95 indicates accurate color rendering. I appreciated being able to adjust the color and brightness from 0 to 100% on the power cable, which gave me a lot of control.

One of my favorite things about this kit was the adjustable tripod stand and bendable gooseneck. The tripod stand rises to a height of 27", which is perfect for taking portraits, and can fold down to 78" for storage and transport. The 1/4"-20 thread on top of the tripod stand can mount different light accessories, and the wide footprint of 24" provides greater stability. The gooseneck allowed me to flexibly adjust the light shooting angle from vertical to horizontal, which was very helpful.

The 1/4" Thread Nut & Power Adapter was another great feature of this kit. The 1/4 thread at the end of the tripod can mount different light equipment, and I was able to connect the light sticks to wall sockets via the 6A 250V AC power adapters. The buttons on the cable allow you to control brightness and color temperature, which gives you even more control over the lighting.

I was also impressed by the Color Filters & Applications that come with this kit. The video light comes with 9 color filters (Pink, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Yellow, Red, Dark Brown, Fluorescein) that clip onto the light for a softer and more colorful look. The variable colors can match other fixtures, and the color filters create different light effects you might need. The high position is perfect for portraits, wedding art, products, and advertised products, while the low position is great for selfies, makeup, fashion, self-broadcasting, live streaming, YouTube, zoom calls, and video conferences.

Finally, I appreciated the Package & Customer Service offered by ALTSON. This kit comes with everything you need, and if you receive incomplete units or defective items, their customer service team is ready to help with replacement or support.
