Honest review and information
As technology continues to quickly advance, it’s no surprise that we now have action cameras that can capture 360-degree footage. One of the latest products to join the market is the Insta360 ONE X2 360 Degree Waterproof Action Camera. I’ve had the chance to use this camera extensively and I must say, I’m pretty impressed.
First things first, let’s talk about the camera’s design. The Insta360 ONE X2 is small and compact, making it easy to carry around. It comes with a protective pouch which means that you can throw it in your bag without worrying about it getting damaged. The camera is also waterproof, rated IPX8, and can withstand being submerged up to 10 meters without a case. This makes it ideal for all sorts of outdoor activities like surfing, kayaking, or going on a rainy hike.
Once you turn on the camera, you’ll be greeted with a touch screen display that’s easy to navigate. The screen itself is a bit small but it gets the job done. There are only three physical buttons on the camera (power, mode, and record) which means that most adjustments will have to be done on the touchscreen. As far as the user interface goes, it’s intuitive and easy to use.
The Insta360 ONE X2 can shoot up to 5.7K 360-degree footage at 30fps, and also supports shooting regular 16:9 footage. The footage is captured using two lenses that are located on either side of the camera. One of the things that make this camera stand out is its ability to shoot 360-degree footage and then allow you to edit it later. You can choose which angle to use in post-production which means that you don’t have to worry about framing your shots perfectly while filming. It also has a “FlowState” stabilization feature that does an excellent job of keeping your shots steady without using a gimbal. However, it’s worth noting that this feature is not available in 360-degree mode.
When it comes to the camera’s battery life, it’s pretty standard for an action camera. You can expect to get around 80 minutes of continuous recording time on a single charge. If you need more recording time, you can always carry additional batteries with you. The camera charges via a USB-C cable which is included in the box.
One of the coolest features of the Insta360 ONE X2 is its “Invisible Selfie Stick” mode. This feature allows you to attach the camera to an extension pole and then edit out the pole in post-production. This gives you the ability to capture unique angles and perspectives that wouldn’t be possible with a regular tripod or selfie stick. Additionally, the camera comes with a voice control feature which makes it easy to start and stop recording without having to physically touch the camera.
The Insta360 ONE X2 also offers a few additional features that make it stand out. It has an AI editing feature that automatically edits your footage into a highlight reel. While it’s not perfect, it’s a nice touch that can save you some time in post-production. The camera also offers live streaming and can be used as a webcam.
Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the Insta360 ONE X2. It offers a lot of features in a compact package that’s easy to use. While the camera may not be perfect, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re in the market for an action camera that can capture 360-degree footage. At the time of writing this review, the camera has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and I would say that’s pretty accurate.
