I recently purchased the Google indoor Nest Security Cam 1080p (Wired) - 2nd Generation - Snow and have been using it for the past few weeks. As someone who is always on the go, I wanted a security camera that I could easily check in from anywhere at any time. The Nest Cam definitely delivers in that regard.

One of the biggest selling points for me was the built-in intelligence. The Nest Cam can distinguish between a person, animal, and vehicle, and send alerts directly to my Google Home app without the need for a subscription. This has given me peace of mind, as I know I will be alerted if there is any unusual activity in my home.

The video quality is also impressive, with 1080p HDR video and night vision. I can easily see what's going on in my home, even in low light conditions. The 3 hours of free event video history is also a nice touch, as I can quickly review any activity that I may have missed.

If I ever need to review video from a previous date, I have the option to add a Nest Aware subscription (sold separately) for up to 60 days of video history. Additionally, if my Wi-Fi goes down, the Nest Cam will store up to 1 hour of recorded events so I can still review them.

The talking and listening feature on the Nest Cam is also very handy. If I ever need to communicate with someone in my home while I'm away, I can do so using the built-in speaker and mic on the security camera. It's also nice to have the ability to call local emergency services directly from the Google Home app with a Nest Aware subscription.

Setting up activity zones is another useful feature on the Nest Cam. I can receive phone notifications about specific areas of my home, which is especially helpful if I want to keep an eye on my front door or back patio. With a Nest Aware subscription, I can also get familiar face alerts, which lets me know when someone I know arrives at my home.

The Nest Cam is also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which allows me to stream live video on compatible devices. However, it's important to note that the Nest Cam requires the Google Home app and a free Google Account, and is not compatible with the Nest app or the Nest site.

One of my favorite features of the Nest Cam is the ability to set up Home & Away Routines. This lets me automatically turn the camera off when I'm home, so no video is streamed or recorded until I leave. This has given me more control over my privacy and has made using the Nest Cam a more seamless experience.

Overall, I've been very happy with my purchase of the Google indoor Nest Security Cam 1080p (Wired) - 2nd Generation - Snow. While I didn't give it a 5-star rating due to the requirement for a Nest Aware subscription for some of the features, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and intelligent security camera for their home.
