GEEKOTO 77’’ Tripod, Camera Tripod for DSLR, Compact Aluminum Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head and 8kgs Load for Travel and Work Review
As a professional photographer, I understand the importance of finding the right tripod for my DSLR camera. A good tripod can make all the difference in getting sharp, stunning shots that stand out. Recently, I had the opportunity to test out the GEEKOTO 77’’ Tripod – a compact, lightweight tripod designed for travel and work.
Right out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality of this tripod. It is made of high-quality aluminum material, which not only makes it durable but also lightweight. At just 3.37lbs / 1.53kg, it is easy to carry around on all sorts of adventures. But despite its lightweight frame, it can hold a maximum load weight of 17.6lbs / 8kg – more than enough for my DSLR camera and even some larger lenses.
One of the things that sets the GEEKOTO 77’’ Tripod apart from other tripods is its flexible adjustment capabilities. The 4-section column legs are equipped with quick-release flip-locks, allowing you to adjust the working height from 19’’ to 77’’ in seconds. This means you can easily set it up on uneven surfaces or incline levels, which is perfect for outdoor shooting.
The tripod also features a 360° panorama and ball joint, allowing you to rotate the head and get the perfect shot from any angle. I was pleased to find that it was easy to adjust and lock the ball head into place, ensuring my camera stayed put once I found the right position.
Another feature I found really useful was the tripod’s ability to transform into a monopod. This is a great option for when you don’t have space to set up a full tripod, but still want a stable surface to shoot from. The central axis screw can be quickly disassembled and re-attached to form the monopod, making it a versatile addition to any photographer’s toolkit.
Of course, no review of a product would be complete without mentioning any cons. While I was overall impressed with the GEEKOTO 77’’ Tripod, there were a few minor issues I encountered. First, the flip-locks can be a bit difficult to open and close, especially when you first receive the tripod. However, with a bit of use, they did loosen up and become easier to work with. Second, when the tripod is fully extended, it can become a bit wobbly – especially in windy conditions. However, this is a common issue with most tripods and can be compensated for by adding weight to the bottom of the center column.
Overall, I would highly recommend the GEEKOTO 77’’ Tripod to anyone in need of a portable, flexible tripod for their DSLR camera. Its lightweight, durable construction and versatile adjustment capabilities make it a great option for travel and outdoor shooting. And with the ability to transform into a monopod, it’s a versatile tool that can adapt to any shooting situation you may encounter. At its affordable price point, it’s a great value that won’t break the bank.
