DJI RS 3 Pro Combo, - Review

As a professional photographer and videographer, I was thrilled to get my hands on the DJI RS 3 Pro Combo. This three-axis gimbal stabilizer is specifically designed for use with DSLR and cinema cameras from a range of manufacturers, including Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, Fujifilm, and BMPCC. And let me tell you, this is one impressive piece of equipment.

One of the standout features of the RS 3 Pro is the automated axis locks. With just the press of a button, the three axes can be locked and unlocked, making transitions and storage much quicker and more efficient. I was truly impressed by how much this feature streamlined my workflow.

Another feature that I found to be incredibly helpful was the extended carbon fiber axis arms. This provided more than enough leveling space for my professional cameras, and I was able to carry professional combinations such as the Sony FX6 and Canon C70 with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens without any issues. This really expanded my creative possibilities and allowed me to capture shots that I might not have been able to get with other stabilizers.

The RS 3 Pro also boasts a max tested payload of 4.5 kg (10 lbs), which is pretty impressive for a stabilizer that only weighs 1.5 kg (including the gimbal, battery handle, and dual-layer quick release plates). This allowed me to use heavier equipment without sacrificing stability or control.

One of the most exciting features of the RS 3 Pro is the LiDAR focusing. The new LiDAR Range Finder projects 43,200 ranging points for advanced and precise focusing detection within a 14-meter range. This technology is truly cutting edge and allowed me to capture footage that was sharper and more in focus than I ever thought possible.

And let's not forget about the long-range O3 Pro video transmission. This feature supports 6km/20,000ft video and audio transmission with ultra-low latency, impressive stability, and extensive coordinated control features. I was able to capture footage from incredible distances and maintain control over my camera, even when it was out of sight.

The RS 3 Pro is also incredibly dynamic and versatile. With its extensive ports and DJI RS SDK protocol, it can connect to a wide variety of accessories and work with vehicle mounts, jibs, Steadicams, and more. This allows me to customize my setup for each shoot and get the most out of my equipment.

Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with the DJI RS 3 Pro Combo. It's an impressive piece of technology that has transformed the way I work. The included Ronin Image Transmitter, Focus Motor (2022), Lower Quick-Release Plate (Extended), and other accessories are the icing on the cake, making this a comprehensive and powerful kit that will serve me for years to come.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the price point. For those starting out in the industry, it may be a little too expensive to invest in. But for those who are seasoned professionals, the RS 3 Pro Combo is definitely worth it. It's a game-changer for anyone who takes their craft seriously and wants the best possible results.
