Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset Review: Is it Worth Your Money?

As someone who is always on the lookout for the latest gaming gear, I was excited to try out the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset. It boasts impressive features such as virtual 7.1 surround sound, ambience RGB illumination, and a detachable omnidirectional boom mic. However, after spending some time with the headset, I was left feeling disappointed.

Comfortable Fit

The oval earcups made of PU leather and ergonomic design of the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset are supposed to provide optimal comfort. However, I found them to be uncomfortable and too tight on my head. After wearing them for only a short period of time, my ears started to feel sore and I had to take them off.

Durable Construction

The frame of the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset is composed of aluminum in a Y-Yoke construction. While the construction may provide style, it’s not durable as advertised. After only a few uses, the headband of the headset started to crack and feel loose, which made the fit even more uncomfortable.

Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound

The virtual 7.1 surround sound feature of the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset is one of its selling points. Custom-tuned 50mm drivers are supposed to deliver a rich, detailed soundstage for gaming and entertainment. However, in my experience, the sound quality was mediocre at best, and the virtual surround sound feature did not impress me.

Detachable Boom Mic

The omnidirectional microphone of the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset is supposed to deliver quality communication with minimal noise. While the microphone is detachable, making it ideal for meetings while working from home, I found the sound quality lacking. The audio quality was muffled and the design of the microphone made it difficult to position it in a comfortable manner.

Ambient RGB Illumination

One of the features that sets the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset apart is its ambient RGB illumination. The illuminated, minimalistic logo adds a nice touch to the gaming experience. However, the RGB lighting did not distract me from the issues I experienced with the headset’s construction and comfort.

Inline Controls

The convenient controls on the cable of the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset allow you to adjust volume, mic, and other settings without pausing the action. While the controls were easy to use, they did not improve my overall experience with the headset.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I was not impressed with the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset. While it does have some impressive features such as virtual 7.1 surround sound and ambient RGB illumination, the issues with comfort and durability outweigh these features. The mediocre sound quality and lackluster microphone also do not justify the price of the headset. Overall, I would not recommend the Cooler Master CH331 Gaming Headset and would suggest looking at other options on the market.
