Cmple - 9U Wall Mount - Review

When it comes to networking equipment, proper storage and organization are key to maintaining peak performance. Cmple's 9U Wall Mount Cabinet offers an enticing solution, with its compact design and sturdy construction. However, after putting it to the test, I have some mixed feelings about its overall performance.

Installation and Assembly

One of the primary benefits of this wall mount cabinet is its easy installation process. The cabinet includes pre-installed 120mm fan for active cooling that helps to remove warm air from the enclosure and draw in cool air, and vented slotted openings that allow air to flow freely through the cabinet to keep the equipment cool.

Unfortunately, I found that the cabinet's mounting hardware is not sufficient for properly anchoring the unit to the wall. This led to some unease and concern about the cabinet's overall stability.

Additionally, the cabinet arrived unassembled, requiring some significant effort to put together. Although overall assembly is not particularly challenging, the instructions are lacking in detail and could be difficult for beginners to follow.

Design and Functionality

Despite some minor issues with installation, the cabinet is built with sturdy 1mm cold-rolled steel with black corrosion-free powder coating finish that allows to hold up to 132 lbs. (60 kg). It also includes square mounting holes and included hardware supports any standard 19-inch equipment, and a clear glass door that provides in-time observation for your equipment in the rack.

The cabinet's ventilation is quite effective, particularly with the integrated fan and vented openings. The lockable side and front doors provide excellent security for networking equipment. The cabinet can be fastened to most types of walls or can be self-standing with the included adjustable feet.

One significant downside is the cabinet is quite small, only offering nine Units of rack space with 16-inch mounting depths. Although this is ideal for small network installations, it may not be sufficient for larger projects.

Overall Performance

Ultimately, Cmple's 9U Wall Mount Cabinet is a useful storage solution for small network installations. Its compact design and ventilation system make it particularly effective. However, the cabinet's mounting hardware is not sufficient for securing it safely to the wall. Additionally, the assembly instructions could be more detailed and beginner-friendly.

Overall, I give this product a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars. With proper installation and attention to safety, it can certainly be an effective storage solution for those with smaller networking needs.
