​SJ@JX Arcade Game LED DIY - Review

Their Arcade Game LED DIY Kit is an affordable and easy-to-use way to create your very own arcade setup. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one and have been testing it out for a few weeks now. Here are my thoughts.

First off, the packaging was great. Everything was clearly labeled and the instructions were easy to understand. I appreciated that they included all of the necessary screws and even a screwdriver to make the installation process easier.

Speaking of the installation, it was a breeze. I was able to get everything set up in about 30 minutes. The buttons and joystick all fit perfectly and I didn't have any issues with the wiring. One thing to note is that there isn't any adhesive included to attach the buttons to your surface of choice, so I had to use my own double-sided tape. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.

Once everything was set up, I was impressed with how it looked. The buttons and joystick glow a bright red color and the logo on each button adds a nice touch. It definitely gives off that arcade vibe that I was going for. The build quality of the kit itself is also quite good. The buttons feel solid and have a satisfying click when pressed.

In terms of performance, I didn't notice any delay between pressing a button and the action happening on screen. SJ@JX claims that their Zero Delay USB encoder eliminates any delay, and I'd say that's accurate based on my experience. I played a variety of games using the kit, including some more complex fighting games, and didn't have any issues with inputs not registering.

One thing I will say is that the BLACK SWITCH Linear mechanical keyboard microswitches might not be for everyone. They don't have any tactile feedback or audible click when pressed. Some people might prefer a different type of switch, but I found them to be fine for my own use.

Compatibility-wise, the kit worked perfectly with my PC and RetroPie setup. I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work, it was recognized immediately. One minor downside is that the kit doesn't come with a trackball, so if you're looking to play games that require one, you'll need to purchase one separately.

Overall, I'm really happy with the SJ@JX Arcade Game LED DIY Kit. It's a fun and affordable way to create your own arcade experience at home. The installation process was easy, the build quality is good, and it performs well. If you're a fan of old-school arcade games, I'd definitely recommend giving this kit a try.
