If you own a Garmin Forerunner 955 or 955 Solar, you'll know how important it is to protect its screen from scratches and damage. Thankfully, Supershieldz has come up with a solution: a 3-pack of tempered glass screen protectors that promise to keep your watch's display safe from harm.

But are they any good? Here's what we found out after trying them out for ourselves.

Installation:

Installing the Supershieldz screen protectors is a relatively straightforward process. Each pack comes with three protectors, so you have a few spares if you make a mistake during installation.

The tempered glass itself is thin but sturdy, and it's easy to line up with the watch face. We did find that the protectors attracted some dust and lint during application, but that's always a risk with screen protectors.

Once applied, the Supershieldz protector is virtually invisible on the watch face. There's no distortion or cloudiness, and it doesn't affect touch sensitivity at all. The only thing you might notice is a slight decrease in screen brightness, but it's not enough to be a dealbreaker.

Protection:

Of course, the most important thing about a screen protector is how well it protects your device's screen. In our tests, the Supershieldz did an excellent job of keeping our Garmin Forerunner 955 scratch-free.

The tempered glass has a 9H hardness rating, which means it's incredibly resistant to scratches and other damage. We tried scratching it with keys, coins, and even a pair of scissors, but we couldn't leave a mark.

We also tested the Supershieldz's resistance to impact. Again, it performed admirably, absorbing the shock of drops and bumps without cracking or chipping. Of course, we wouldn't recommend purposefully dropping your watch, but it's good to know that the screen protector can handle accidental impacts.

Hydrophobic and Oleo-phobic Coating:

The Supershieldz screen protectors also boast a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating that's designed to repel sweat and reduce fingerprints. We found that it did a decent job of both, though it's not perfect.

After a workout, we did notice some sweat marks on the protector, though they wiped away easily with a microfiber cloth. And while the oleophobic coating did reduce fingerprints, we still had to wipe the screen down occasionally to keep it looking clean.

Price:

At around $10 for a 3-pack, the Supershieldz screen protectors are a great value. Considering the high level of protection they offer, it's a small price to pay to keep your expensive smartwatch's screen in pristine condition.

Conclusion:

Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the Supershieldz tempered glass screen protectors for the Garmin Forerunner 955/955 Solar. They're easy to install, virtually invisible, and provide excellent protection against scratches and impact.
